Karl Schiske (12 February 1916 — 16 June 1969) was a pioneer of 20th-century classical music in Austria. To compose, Karl Schikse would go to the Styrian moutain region Groß Sölk, Gmunden/Traunsee or the Orther Au. The exhibition features five of these landscapes as Karl Schiske's retreats and sources of inspiration. Each work is combined with its place of origin and impressions of that place.
